Before your Manu National Park 4 Days 3 Nights adventure, you will have a comprehensive briefing with your guide one or two days in advance. This meeting at your hotel allows you to go over the itinerary, ask any questions, and finalize preparations for your trip.
Departure from Cusco at 5:30am in the morning in our private mini van. We will pass through interesting Inter-Andean valleys and picturesque farmer communities. In the middle of the day we are going to visit the pre-Inca tombs of Ninamarca, known as “chullpas”.
After that we will arrive to Paucartambo city, which is a typical colonial town. It had a lot of importance and it still conserves it’s flavor. Continuing our trip we drive up until the Abra of Accjanaco which is found at 3850 meters over the sea.
From this point we start to go down passing through the cloud forest, which is an area rich in endemic species as the spectacular Andean Bear (Tremarctos Ornatus) and “The Cock of the Rock” (National Bird of Peru), Orquis, Bromelias and Ferns etc.
Then in the cloud forest we will visit a lek of Cock of the Rock, in which these birds every morning and afternoon made during a very interesting dance called “Displays”. We will spend the night at Rainforest Lodge.
After breakfast, we will continue by our private van to the port of Atalaya. On the way we will visit the local plantations like coca plantation, bananas, pineapples.
From Atalaya port we leave by motorized boat to our next Lodge, along the boat trip we can see a variety of wildlife, such as capybaras crossing the river, herons, kingfisher and always the presence of vultures of which the most spectacular is the condor of the jungle, the king of vultures (Sarcoramphus papa).
After the luch, We will explore all the afternoon with luck in our walk we will have a possibility to see some Monkeys, Macaws, Toucans so in the way back we will have a night walking where we can see spiders, lizards, frogs and tarantulas, also this day we will observe some birds from the top of a metal tower.
After this impressive experience we go back to the lodge where our delicious dinner is waiting.
We will leave early to visit the parrots, parakeets and mini macaws clay lick, and after breakfast we will explore the jungle for several hours, this day we have chance to see many species of mokeys like, squirrel Monkeys, Capuchin Monkey, Titi Monkeys, Howler Monkeys, wild pigs and many other species, and also we will enjoy the amazing sounds of birds like Macaws, woodpeckers, Toucans, Parrots, harpy eagles.
After lunch, this day we will go to visit Machuwasi Lake, where we will take a balsa raft and see Capybara (the biggest rodent in the world) different varieties of wildlife such as the pre-historic Hoatzin bird, Cormorants, Herons and Horned screamer, (other night expedition which is optional) to see more nocturnal creatures, We will spend the night in our rustic lodge at Amazon Lodge.
Early in the morning we will have our fresh breakfast, after 20 minutes by boat up the river we get the tiny river port of Atalaya, where our bus will be waiting for us and drive back to Cusco, on the way back, we may stop frequently to observe some birds in the cloud forest. We will reach Cusco at 17:00 p.m. directly to your Hotel.
